Our Dogs
Family first — from our foundation girl Jam to the next generation we kept from her first litter.
Jam
Jam is our red smooth-coat girl and the dog who started this chapter for The McWhirt Dachshunds. Around the house she is affectionate, expressive, and never far from the family. As a momma, she stays involved with her puppies and raises them right in the middle of our home life.
Her first litter gave us five puppies — Katrinka, Zyler, Livvy, Lola, and Luna — and the updates from those families are now part of our Past Puppies page. We kept Luna from that litter to continue Jam’s line in our breeding program.
Luna
Luna is the girl we kept from Jam’s first litter to become part of the future of The McWhirt Dachshunds. She is full of energy, loving, and sweet — and she has absolutely no problem making herself part of whatever the family is doing.
She loves playing with her momma, cuddling in bed, and has appointed herself the official shower assistant: if you step out of the shower, Luna is ready to help dry you off. She is growing up here with Jam while we watch her mature before any future breeding plans.
Duke
Duke is the gray smooth-coat sire of our current litter with Jam. Duke is not owned by The McWhirt Dachshunds and does not live in our home; he is owned by my sister, so he is still very much a family dog.
We include him here so families considering one of the current puppies can see both parents and understand exactly where the litter comes from.
