Puppy Application
Born and raised in our home, these puppies are handled daily and grow up around the everyday activity of family life. We document their markings and development so families can watch them grow before go-home day.
This little girl has been the coat-color mystery of the litter from the beginning. Her warm red base is layered with darker shading through the ears and along her back, so we are continuing to watch whether she settles into a sable or wild-boar look as she matures. She also has a small white chest marking that makes her easy to recognize.

A classic little black-and-tan girl with clear tan points over her eyes, on her muzzle, chest, and feet. Her markings already give her that unmistakable traditional dachshund expression — especially the tiny tan eyebrows.

This piebald boy stands out immediately. He has a mostly white body with warm patches across his ears and back, giving him a look that is completely his own. His markings have been easy to follow as he has grown and his eyes have opened.

Our solid-black boy is the darkest puppy in the litter and one of the easiest to recognize. In the photos we have taken so far, his coat reads as a sleek, even black without the obvious tan points seen on his black-and-tan brother.

This handsome black-and-tan boy has bold, well-defined points over the eyes, around the muzzle, on the chest, and down the legs. The markings on his face are especially striking and give him a very expressive little dachshund look.

Jam is our red smooth-coat girl and the heart of The McWhirt Dachshunds. She is affectionate, expressive, and a devoted momma. Her puppies are raised right alongside her in our home.

Duke is the gray smooth-coat sire of this litter. He is owned by our family — specifically my sister — and was paired with Jam for this breeding. He does not live with The McWhirt Dachshunds.
